Background
The Killer Job is an idea that I've been knocking around for a few years now. I pitched it verbally to a few friends who could immediately see it working but it didn't get any commercial interest until I pitched to Rory Gilmartin who was heading up development at Impact Pictures, who produce the Resident Evil films. He liked the idea and this was enough to get me started on the script.
It was always designed as a low budget horror movie, but more adult than the usual teen schlock that's been coming out of Hollywood in the last few years. It's more "Saw" and "Dog Soldiers" than "Scream".
I'm now revisiting the script as this will be my first feature film which means some adjustment. You have a different take on the script when you know you are going to direct, cast and produce it. The story will be the same, but it needs tweaking to make the most of the approach I will be taking.
